Warranty Policy
Edify is committed to delivering high-quality refurbished products that meet your expectations. This policy outlines the terms under which Edify provides warranty service for its refurbished hardware products and accessories.
1. Warranty period
Standard warranty
- All products except Apple. One year from the date of original retail purchase by the end user.
- Apple products (MacBook, Mac Mini, iMac). Six months from the date of original retail purchase.
- Networking accessories, external peripherals, and bundled items follow the accessory-specific warranty noted on the product listing, which may be six months or shorter.
Extended warranty
Customers may purchase an extended warranty providing additional coverage for up to two years, in addition to the standard warranty. Extended warranty terms, inclusions, and exclusions are provided separately at the time of purchase.
2. What is covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Edify warrants that the refurbished hardware product and refurbished accessories contained in the original packaging are free from defects in materials and workmanship when used normally in accordance with Edify’s published guidelines, including technical specifications, user manuals, and service communications.
Hardware components
This warranty covers all hardware components of the refurbished product, including the main device and any branded accessories included in original packaging:
- Screen / display
- Motherboard
- Keyboard
- Hard drive, SSD, and RAM
- Accessories in the original packaging (six months)
Edify will repair or replace covered hardware issues resulting from manufacturing defects or normal use during the warranty period.
3. What is not covered
Third-party accessories
This warranty does not cover any third-party accessories or components used with the refurbished product, even if purchased from Edify alongside the main device.
Software
Any software, whether included with or installed on the refurbished product, is not covered. This includes operating systems, applications, and other software components. Refer to the software licensing agreement for rights and responsibilities.
4. Exclusions
This warranty does not apply to:
- Consumable parts, such as batteries, unless failure is due to a defect in materials or workmanship.
- Superficial damage including scratches, dents, and broken plastic on ports, unless due to a defect in materials or workmanship.
- Damage caused by third-party components that do not meet the specifications of the refurbished product.
- Damage caused by external factors, including accidents, abuse, misuse, fire, liquid contact, earthquake, or other external causes.
- Damage caused by operating the product outside of Edify’s published guidelines or in an environment not recommended by Edify.
- Damage resulting from unauthorised repairs, modifications, or upgrades performed by anyone other than an authorised Edify service provider.
- Normal wear and tear or defects due to ageing.
- Products with removed, defaced, or tampered serial numbers.
- Products reported stolen, or those that cannot be accessed due to security measures (passcodes, and similar) and where ownership cannot be verified.
5. Your responsibilities
Backup of data
You are responsible for maintaining periodic backup copies of information stored on the product. Edify is not responsible for any data loss during repair, replacement, or any warranty service.
Proof of purchase
Before receiving warranty service, you may be required to provide proof of purchase, respond to diagnostic questions, and follow Edify’s instructions for troubleshooting.
6. Claim process
Contacting Edify
To initiate a warranty claim, contact customer support via our Contact Us page, email contact@edify.club, or call +91-9513245671. Provide a detailed description of the issue along with proof of purchase.
Initial resolution
Once the complaint is raised, Edify will attempt to resolve the issue remotely within 24 to 48 hours. Our team may guide you through troubleshooting or perform remote diagnosis.
Engineer visit
Within 5 to 6 working days, an onsite engineer will visit to diagnose the issue at serviceable locations. For non-serviceable locations, our Authorized Service Partner will guide you to the nearest Authorized Service Center.
Facility inspection
If the engineer visit does not resolve the issue, Edify may pickup the product or require you to send it to our service facility for inspection and repair.
Replacement
If the issue cannot be resolved after facility inspection, Edify may replace the unit with another of equivalent value and specifications.
Replacement and refunds
If a replacement is provided, it is covered under the remaining term of the original warranty. Refunds, if offered, are processed to the original payment method with depreciation calculated per the Buyback Policy.
7. Shipping and handling
Shipping costs
If warranty service is required for a defect covered under this policy, Edify covers shipping costs to and from the service center. If the service request is found ineligible, you may be responsible for shipping costs.
Packaging
When returning a product for warranty service, ensure proper packaging to prevent transit damage. Edify is not responsible for damage caused by improper packaging.
8. Limitation of liability
- Edify does not guarantee that the operation of the refurbished product will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. It does not cover software issues, user errors, or other non-hardware problems.
9. Limitation of damages
Except as provided in this warranty and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Edify is not responsible for direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from any breach of warranty or condition. This includes but is not limited to loss of use, loss of revenue, loss of actual or anticipated profits (including loss of profits on contracts), loss of the use of money, loss of anticipated savings, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, or loss of reputation.
Any decision made by Edify regarding warranty claims, service options, or related matters is final and binding.
10. Modifications
Right to modify
Edify reserves the right to modify or update this warranty policy at any time without prior notice. Changes are effective immediately on posting. Review periodically.
Service and support availability
Service and support are provided based on parts availability and Edify’s service center capabilities. Certain models may require additional lead time for repair or replacement due to component sourcing.
Force majeure
Edify is not liable for delays, interruptions, or inability to fulfil warranty obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of war, terrorism, government restrictions, pandemics, strikes, supply shortages, or other unforeseen events.
11. Transferability
This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser of the refurbished product. Any resale or transfer voids this warranty.
12. Conduct of customers and staff
Edify is committed to a respectful and professional environment for both customers and employees. Customers are expected to treat our staff with courtesy. Abusive behaviour including verbal or physical threats, harassment, or disruptive conduct will not be tolerated and may result in limitation of warranty services.
Edify expects its employees to uphold the highest standards of professionalism. If a customer experiences abusive or inappropriate language from our staff, it should be reported to contact@edify.club.
13. Governing law
Service options
At its discretion, Edify will repair, replace, or refund the defective product. Replacement products may consist of refurbished items equivalent in performance and reliability to the original.
Jurisdiction
This warranty policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of India. Any disputes arising from this warranty are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
